I scanned through odforce.net forums while researching on cracking a ground in Houdini. I downloaded a file provided by a user, it involved cracking a wall with the use of lsystem.
I tried recreating the cracking on the ground using the same method in a test file. I had decent results of cracking the ground with particles emitting from the tip of the crack animation as debris. One thing still lacking was how do we split the ground apart as two separate geometries.
I couldn't retrieve my test files though as Desktop has been reformatted to ubuntu. I've tried entering windows in various ways like rebooting the desktop and restarting but it still didn't work out. I'll redo the ground shatter test anyway.
